The M4 Sherman, officially Medium Tank, M4, was the most widely used medium tank during World War II and later during the Battle of Asal Uttar, one of the largest tank battles in history, during the 1965 war. The durable M4 Sherman tanks and the strategy adopted by the Indian Army resulted in a landslide victory for India, concluding in either the destruction or capture of 100 plus far superior enemy tanks.
